Brisbane International Airport

Brisbane International Airport has frequently been recognized by various groups as one of the best airports in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. For the past 5 years it has been voted the best airport in the country by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and in 2009 was a finalist in the Queensland Sustainable Business awards for dedication to reducing water consumption and its use of plastic bags.

It is also been recognized internationally for its dedication to reducing water use. In the past few years the airport has undergone a $3.3 billion infrastructure and the results have been impressive. The airport is now equiped to handle the ever growing customers that walk through its doors as well as provide better services for those in transit.

If you`re looking to get to the city from the airport there are various ways including bus, limousine, taxi and the Airtrain. All services can be booked at the Visitor Information Centre. The Airtrain is probably the cheapest was into the city, although not the fastest or easiest if you don’t know where you’re going. A one way Airtrain ticket is $14 plus any other zomes you may need to travel across to get to you destination. It leaves from both the domestic and international terminals and takes about 30 minutes into the city.

If you are in transit in the airport or just really early for your flight the best diversion is the Direct Factory Outlet shopping that is just around the corner. There is a free shuttle bus that leaves from Level 4 of the international terminal and will take you to the Airport Village where all the shopping is. The ride takes about 10 minutes and runs frequently throughout the day so you won’t be stranded and miss your flight. There are also various shops and eateries in the airport that you can pass the time in if you’re waiting around.
